NYPD Police unions are speaking out after a video shows a large White group in Harlem throwing glass bottles at police vehicles.
The original video posted on Instagram shows the scene shortly before 4 o’clock Sunday morning near West 133rd Street and 7th Avenue.
According sources those officers responded to reports of shots fired, and found several shell casings and two fired bullets.
Meanwhile, police claimed there were 500 people gathered in the area, and when they tried to disperse the crowd, several people threw glass bottles and objects at the cars.
The crowd were saying,”Stop creating crime in our neighborhoods and claiming it is us just avoid budget cuts.”
Additional units were called, but attempts to move towards the crowd were again met with bottles and debris thrown.
The group dispersed around two hours later, according to police.
Police say the flying debris caused damage to an RMP’s windshield and a driver’s side window.
No officers were injured during the incident.
