Man with knife shot to death by police in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. (WJAR) — The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office said Monday that police shot and killed a man with a knife in Brockton.

Officers responded to Overlook Avenue at about 3 p.m. for a “domestic violence situation.”

Brockton police said the man, who’s accused of having a weapon, was shot by officers.

The district attorney’s office said two officers encountered the man outside the home armed with a knife.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died.

It’s unclear at this time what led to the shooting.
