The legendary singer and producer celebrated his 61st birthday on Friday and announced he had been fighting the disease at the same time.
“I would like to warmly thank everyone for all the many birthday wishes today. I feel so blessed to be able to celebrate another birthday. I tested positive for the Covid19 virus, as did my family,” he said in a statement on Instagram.

He continued, “It’s an incredibly scary thing to go through my friends,” adding, “I’m happy to report we have now tested negative and are on our way back to full health.”
